    1. Give your sources of all these numbers. Without saying what is and isn't included in these numbers, they are useless 2. Not considering the cost for production, using a light bulb or computer is theoretically free as they warm your house or appartement and you save on ridiculous straight hearing energy. Putting energy straight into heat is just dumb. So did you account for that win? You never mention it. You also do not mention how the electricity is produced: coal, sun or wind? In other words, you could have made the video useful instead of useless...

03:55 is it tho? Original tesla charge for 1h = 85kWh. 1 - 100watt lighbulb for 24h = 1kg carbon from this video. So that is 35.4 kg per tesla charge which is like ~200miles. And on averagre diesel / petrol cars do 39kg for that milage. edit- also ovens average 2-3kwh so there is no fucking way that using one for 2 hours makes 20kg. Even a 5kwh oven will emit like 4kg carbon . All math is based on the lightbulb info from this video

Globally, livestock alone produce ~7100000000000kg or 7.1 gigatonnes (I'm not joking, that's the given measurement unit) of CO2 annually. So really, there's not much any of us can do that will make a significant impact.

BTW guys, a tesla's both lifetime and driving co2 is less than that of a ICE car. A few facts I took from a persuasive essay i wrote on EVs: -A typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year -a mature tree only absorbs about 48 pounds of CO2 per year (21.77kg) -electric vehicles produce 44-56% less greenhouse gas than conventional cars. -including the manufacturing of the battery pack, it still released 31-46% less greenhouse gasses. -only 15% of gasoline is turned into power that the car uses to move or power accessories (this isn't even including that we can't harvest all the energy in gas - only the loss i the car's friction etc itself) -diesel is about 20%, hybrids 30-35%, all electric 80% (again, only inside the car's operations) efficient -between grid and wheels, EVs about 59-62% and ICE are about 17-21%. Not a big surprise - electric motors are about 85-90% efficient by themselves I go on to talk about non-enviornmental reasons to get an EV

Co2's are the problem period, we are all doomed if we do not do anything about it soon. Everyone needs to help with this, including all states and countries. What we need to do is lower the speed limits on every road- roads through out the world. No one should be able to travel over 45 mph , think of all the emission's that will not be emitted, and the fuel saved. Plus the lives save ect. ect, ect. win win situation.

Yep. I mean to some degree our consumption creates the market for some stuff that we're using in excess. The example most relevant to me is meat, since the average American consumes a lot more meat than necessary. But yeah, the core to the problems is our political commitment to these environmentally destructive industrial scale practices, where no particular individual is to blame, but if we don't do shit and just let it keep happening, we're gonna be in a deep, deep hole.

It's also important not to get completely hung up on minimizing a single aspect of your life and then call it a day and ignore all the others. E.g. be vegan diet but then fly on holiday every year, or never fly but drive an SUV 100km a day. If you are not strictly vegan, but reduce animal products heavily, not strictly car-free, but only drive when it is necessary, and not strictly non-flying, but only fly rarely and when there is really no other option, the effect will likely be much greater than when you optimize one of these aspects to an extreme, but totally neglect the others. If the latter will even have a positive effect at all, I see way too many vegans who fly around the world all year or flight-shamers who downright fetishize large diesel cars who probably all produce above-average emissions on the whole precisely because they feel so smug about having eliminated one emissions source from their lives that they forget about the others. It's not the 1 kg of CO2 for the one slice of chicken that's enough to not be called a vegetarian that will cost us our planet, nor the 1kg of CO2 you get from driving your sick child to the doctor while it's cold outside. But it is the sum of all the things we do that is the measure we need to minimize. Try to calculate the emissions produced by everything you do and check what is actually contributing how much. The crucial number here is 40t. That is the amount of CO2 each person on earth can emit, from this point onwards, in their entire life, in order to still stay within the 66% confidence budget for staying beloy 1.5° of warming. That is a tough nut to crack, but it is doable, or at least it would be if people really had the will to do it.

This video has inspired me to not do anything at all to reduce my carbon footprint. Any action I take would alter my life for the worse, and ultimately serve no purpose. Thank you for the numerical comparisons. Math will light the way.

Guess Bill and Melinda Gates didn't want you talking about how companies produce literal billions of tons of CO2 emissions, huh? Wouldn't want people to realize who the real threat is, instead drive an electric car! Pay no attention to the oil conglomerates behind the curtain, smh.

Forgive me for not believing that the US produce more CO2 than China, a country blanketed in smog 🤔

The graph was portraying per capita emissions. China does produce more CO2 than the US, but it has 4 times the population, making it a smaller CO2 emitter per capita.

Renewables are trash, nuclear is the way, and the blame for pollution should be largely on corporations (especially ones in China & India, as they do not follow almost any environmental regulations). Shifting blame onto individuals is a psyop.

Only thing that was missed in this video was the "CO2" emissions from producing the electricity for the Tesla at the coal power plant. Also the "CO2" emissions from manufacturing those "renewable" energy sources.

Don't think anybody was trying to address carbon emissions with straw choices, more like pollution but ok...

In other words, you as an individual can do next to nothing compared to the massive influence our politicians and companies _could_ have if they actually decided to do something. This is why the whole "do your part and be an informed consumer" line of thinking is so deceitful. It puts the onus of responsibility for climate change on individual consumers, when those who are really responsible and could actually make a difference are large corporations and government policymakers.
